Zhu Yeqing tea(also called Bamboo Leaf Green tea)is a famous green tea from Emei Mountain in Sichuan Province, China, known for its unique quality and long history. Its shape is flat and straight like bamboo leaves, its colour is tender green and oily, its soup colour is yellow-green and bright, its taste is mellow and refreshing, and its aftertaste is aftertaste. The history of zhu yeqing can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty, Emei Mountain area has a tradition of tea planting and production. In the 1980s, the Emeishan Tea Factory started to produce Zhu Yeqing on a large scale, further improving the quality of the tea through modern processing technology. Nowadays, Zhu Yeqing tea has become one of the most famous teas in China and is renowned both at home and abroad.

Zhu Yeqing Tea Picking:
The picking time of Zhu Yeqing tea is mainly around the Qingming Festival (4th or 5th April), when the temperature is moderate, the new growth of tea bush is vigorous, and the quality of tea leaves is the best. All of our zhu yeqing is hand-picked, which ensures the integrity and freshness of the tea leaves, and avoids any damage that may be caused by mechanical picking. We choose sunny weather for picking, avoiding rainy days, as high humidity will affect the quality of the tea leaves. There are also requirements for the selection of tea leaves, our zhu yeqing is picked from a bud that has just unfolded on the new tip of the tea bush and one to two young leaves at the beginning of their development. This is the best quality tea with high tenderness.
Zhu Yeqing Tea Production Process:
Picking: Select the young leaves in spring, the standard is one bud and one leaf or one bud and two leaves at the beginning of development.
Sun-drying: Spread the tea leaves on bamboo mats to evaporate the excess water.
Fixation: High temperature treatment to stop the Fermentation and keep the green colour.
Rolling: To improve the shape and flavour of the tea leaves, either manually or mechanically.
Fermentation: Some zhu yeqing teas may undergo slight fermentation to produce specific aromas.
Hot air drying: removes moisture and increases aroma and flavour.
Grading and Packaging: Tea is graded according to its quality and packaged in deoxygenated nitrogen filled packaging to maintain quality.
How To Brew Zhu Yeqing:
- Preparation of tea leaves: Take an appropriate amount of Zhhu Yeqing tea leaves, usually about 3-5 grams of tea leaves per 150ml of water.
- Preheat the tea set: Preheat the tea set with hot water, rinse the tea set inside and outside, then pour off the water. This step will raise the temperature of the tea set and make it easier for the tea leaves to unfold.
- Put tea leaves into the teapot: Gently place the prepared zhu yeqing tea leaves into the teapot.
- Fill with water: Use water with a temperature of about 80-85°C.
- Steeping: Allow the tea leaves to steep in the water for about 1-2 minutes. Bamboo Yeqing tea leaves are relatively young and should not be steeped for too long to avoid over-strengthening the tea broth.
- Appreciating tea: Pour the tea into a tea cup and savour it slowly. Bamboo leaf green tea has a bright green colour, elegant and long-lasting aroma, and a fresh and mellow taste.

Appearance: The dry tea of Zhhu Yeqing is tight and thin, flat and straight in shape, resembling bamboo leaves, hence the name ‘Zhhu Yeqing’. The colour of the dried tea is bright green, with white hairs showing.
Aroma: After brewing, Zhu Yeqing gives off a fresh bamboo leaf and bean aroma, which is elegant, long-lasting and pleasant.
Soup Colour: The tea soup is bright green in colour, clear and translucent, without turbidity.
