Moonlight White Tea Picking:

We have strict requirements for picking moonlight white tea. The picking time is in the early spring of each year, when the tea leaves are young and green and full of nutrients. The picking time is usually in the early morning or evening, when there is less raw moisture in the tea leaves and the dew on the leaves has evaporated, which is beneficial to maintaining the integrity and quality of the tea leaves. When picking, attention must be paid to maintaining the integrity of the tea leaves and avoiding damage as much as possible. When picking, the young buds at the top of the tea bush should be selected to ensure that the buds and leaves are intact.

Moonlight White Tea Production:

Raw material selection‌: The raw material for our moonlight white tea is mainly fresh leaves of the large-leaf Yunnan tea plant, especially those with plump buds, full of downy hairs and bright white. These leaves are carefully selected to provide the basis for making high-quality moonlight white tea.

‌Withering‌: The freshly picked leaves are spread out evenly in a specific environment, where enzymatic oxidation transforms the internal quality of the tea, creating a unique aroma and taste.

Drying‌: After withering, the tea needs to be dried in the shade to avoid direct sunlight. This step helps the tea retain its natural colour and flavour. In the traditional production process, drying is usually done in the moonlight, hence the name'moonlight white’.

Moonlight White Tea Brewing Method:

Brewing tea Moonlight white tea is best brewed in porcelain or glass tea ware so that you can better appreciate the way the tea unfurls in the water and the colour of the tea broth changes. Moonlight white tea is a delicate tea, so it is recommended to brew it with water at a temperature of about 85°C to 90°C. Water that is too hot may destroy the nutrients and taste of the tea. It is appropriate to use 3 to 5 grams of tea leaves per 100 millilitres of water to brew Moonlight White Tea. Slowly pour the warm water along the edge of the tea set to let the tea leaves slowly wake up in the water. This process is also called ‘waking the tea’. After the tea is woken up, pour in the warm water again, steep for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, and then you can drink it. At this time, the tea broth is clear and bright in colour, with a mellow taste and a light sweetness and floral aroma.
